Central Bali Cultural Tour

Our experienced driver will pick you up from your hotel or villa after breakfast in the morning to begin your adventure. The pick up time will depend on the location of the hotel or villa you are staying in.

First stop is the famous Ubud Monkey Forest. The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary is a nature reserve and temple complex in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. It is also known as the Ubud Monkey Forest. The Sanctuary is home to over 1260 long-tailed macaques, who are considered sacred by the local Balinese people. Monkey Forest Ubud holds a significant history intertwined with Balinese culture. Dating back to the 14th century, it has been regarded as a sacred place, housing spiritual forces and guardian spirits. The monkeys, seen as sacred animals, symbolize both protection and mischief, fostering a unique connection between humans and wildlife.

The mission of The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary (Monkey Forest Ubud) is conserving the area based on the concept of Tri Hita Karana. Tri Hita Karana is ones of philosophy in Hinduism. Tri Hita Karana is derived from the word of “Tri” meaning three, “Hita” which means happiness, and “Karana” which means the cause or manner. Thus, Tri Hita Karana means “Three ways to reach spiritual and physical well-being”.

The next stop is the Elephant Safari Park which is Bali's only dedicated elephant rescue facility. Get up close and personal with Bali’s largest herd of 31 rescued Sumatran elephants at the island’s premiere interactive and intimate elephant experience set among lush botanical gardens and jungle. Our resident giants can be seen immersing themselves in the park lake, in between riding, painting or other activities. While there you can observe, hand feed, touch, and take photos with our elephants, all the while learning more about them along the way.

Our driver will then take you to the Pura Puseh Desa Batuan Hindu Temple also known as Pura Batuan, it is a Hindu temple located in the village of Batuan, in the Sukawati district of Gianyar Regency in Bali. The temple is known for its unique architecture, rich history, and beautiful surroundings. When you are at Pura Puseh Desa Batuan you can expect to learn about Balinese culture and history as well as marveling at the temple's intricate carvings and sculptures.

From there the driver will take you to the Luwak Coffee Plantation. Luwak Coffee or civet coffee is a coffee made from the beans of coffee berries which have been eaten by the Asian Palm Civet and other related civets, then passed through its digestive tract. A civet eats the berries for their fleshy pulp. In its stomach, proteolytic enzymes seep into the beans, making shorter peptides and more free amino acids. Passing through a civet’s intestines the beans are then defecated, keeping their shape. After gathering, thorough washing, sun drying, light roasting and brewing, these beans yield an aromatic coffee with much less bitterness, widely noted as the most expensive coffee in the world. At Alas Haram there are also many activities you can do such as giant swing, sky bike, and flying fox/zip line.

When you are finished there our driver will then return you back to your hotel or villa. The approximate time for the whole trip is around 10 hours.

Please note that women during their menstruating cycles are not permitted to enter any temple grounds according to the Hindu Faith
